Kia Ora, my name is Amy Penfold. I have been lucky enough to call Tauranga home for most of my life aside from 8 years in Australia and the UK. After being a nanny in London, I discovered a love of working with children. Upon returning to New Zealand, I completed my teaching qualification and now find myself working at wonderful Bloom. Combining my Bachelor of Physical Education with Early childhood education means that I have a passion for outdoor play and movement as well as messy and natural play. I believe that children flourish under positive guidance and building respectful and responsive relationships with those around them. I place great importance on children developing resilience and self-regulation which will hold them in good stead upon entering higher education. When I am not running around outside with your children at Bloom, you will find me in the yoga studio, out tramping, or walking my awesome dog ‘Django’ on the beach.
